Egg
I haven't painted one of these little paintings in a while. I'm on the verge of starting a much larger painting but that is still in the thought process, so, it's great to spend an hour or two on something small, but finished in one sitting (or I should say standing). I've been meaning to paint a cracked egg for a while, it's got such great components to it: the bright yellow yolk surrounded by the translucent and gel-like white next to the cracked shell. Did you ever hear of an egg described quite like that! A painter's delight!

View From My Window
I decided to paint something different. I have always been intrigued by the view outside my studio windows, so why not paint it? A nice change from still life painting. I'm not used to working with the changing light, so I actually started this a while back then painted it whenever the light seemed right. Of course, the leaves kept changing as well! I had do a bit of work from memory!

Half Full
I always enjoy painting clear glass and what could be more fun than painting this pitcher with the sunlight reflecting through. This pitcher came from my Dad, and my two New York girls think it will be perfect for sangria. I must agree! I thought I had better paint it before they took it to their new Brooklyn apartment. Unfortunately, I only had water for it.

Tulip Bowls and Apple
I have become obsessed with the shape of these little bowls. They have appeared in the last three of my paintings!

Maple & Main Gallery
I have just joined the Maple & Main Gallery located in the picturesque town of Chester, CT. It's a wonderful gallery representing approximately 30 artists all doing a variety of painting and sculpture. The November show is opening on Fri., Nov. 18 from 5:00 - 8:00pm. The gallery is in a quaint village setting right in the center of town among shops, restaurants, and other galleries...a great place to visit, especially if you're in the market for buying some artwork! The show will feature about 200 pieces of art, many of them being smaller and very affordable I'm really excited to be a member of this gallery and am extremely impressed with the quality of work available.
The address is 1 Maple St., Chester, CT. Gallery hours are Wed - Sat., 11:00am - 6:00pm, and Sundays 11:00am - 5:00pm. It is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Potted Plant & Red Pepper
I've been anxious to paint another larger painting, and this one's 24x24. I love a square! The objects in this painting have lots of meaning to me... the plant is an offshoot from one that was growing at my Dad's house which had to be about 25 feet long! I took this clipping and hope it will grow as well in my house. The white fabric was given to me by a second cousin from Germany. I had misplaced it, and was happy to finally find it - I had been thinking about painting it for a long time. I love the appliqued design. I bought the fabric in the background to make some valances in my bedroom, but had to include it in my painting first. Now that the painting is finished, I can start my sewing project!

Lilacs #2
What a spring we've had so far...nothing but rainy, cool weather. My lawn looks pretty good, but I'm just waiting for some glorious warm sunny weather. My neighbor next door has a beautiful lilac bush that had a bumper crop of purple flowers this year, and I couldn't resist picking some blooms and bringing them up to my studio. I knew the flowers on the tree wouldn't last too long, so here they are, immortalized.

Something different
I really have been itching to paint something completely different that usual. I took some photos a few months ago while there was still snow on the ground and although I don't really want to be thinking about snow, I was drawn to the great shadows on the side of the building and the reflections in the window.
