I enjoy finding beauty in simple things. I love to replicate the luster of glass or ceramics, the way light shines on the folds of fabric, or the geometric shapes a shadow might make.
It's a challenge to paint an apple that's good enough to eat, or a tomato so plump I wish I could have it for lunch. In the end, it's still oil on canvas, and there's great satisfaction in the manipulation of paint. Oh, such fun!
